Who Is GLOBAL Merchandising Services?
Established in 2008 by 30-year industry veteran Barry Drinkwater, founder and former worldwide CEO of Bravado International Group. GLOBAL Merchandising Services is the world’s largest independent entertainment merchandiser, with clients like the Backstreet Boys, Lewis Capaldi, Motorhead, Motley Crüe, Niall Horan, and Ozzy Osboune. They provide a non-corporate alternative for artists and entertainment-rights holders searching for a combination of old-school service and cutting edge development. Additionally, they are committed to providing around the clock exceptional client services, maximising revenues and protecting brand integrity, across live events, retail, E-Commerce and licensing.
The Power Of Social Media
In this new digital age where people have stopped buying music and CD sales are no longer what they were, merchandise sales took on a new importance. Musical artists and bands merchandise now takes precedence in expanding an artist’s brand. And that can now be accomplished with the power of social media. With social media marketing being a common practice for many companies, big and small, GLOBAL Merchandising Services not only needed custom social media ads, they needed ads that stood out. Using Celebrities to Drive Sales
Anyone who knows anything about social media sites such as Instagram and Facebook, knows that there are established celebrities within these mediums. GLOBAL Merchandising has been deeply embedded in the music industry since 2008 working with a colossal list of artists. Their unique situation presented an opportunity to generate highly attractive and engaging content. However, leveraging this influence while resisting the temptation to broadcast overt sales messages is a science. Fortunately, EKKO Media has mastered this craft and we harness this influence when we develop marketing campaigns for clients.
Motion Graphics
With a focus on quality, creativity and high-end design, we showed GLOBAL Merchandising Services how motion graphic technology brings a new level to digital production. We are adept at creating rich media and motion graphic content for GLOBAL’s wide range of clients. We leveraged our Motion Graphics prowess to create these one of a kind merchandising ads. For artist’s like Motley Crüe and Ozzy Osbourne, ads with heavy animated (DOES THIS SOUND RIGHT?) smoke, dark colors, and aggressive transitions were necessary. Whereas the ads for a band like the Backstreet Boys needed soft colors and smooth animation.
Project Outcome
Not surprisingly, the website has received numerous awards for design, user experience (UX) and user interface (UI). The awards are nice, but the real reward has been the growing popularity and reputation of the brand.
